Description: The female leads developed a workshop in partnership with Lockheed Martin, a leading aerospace and defense company. The workshop, “STEM is a Girl Thing,” is catered towards female elementary students (grades 3-5 and ages 8-12) in Title I schools/schools without a robotics team in Prince William County, focusing on building their programming, electrical, and mechanical skills. Across a two session, the girls will be provided activities and opportunities for collaboration, teaching the core values of FIRST and the engineering process. 

Planned Activities:

• Electrical: Drawing Robots

• Mechanical: Hydraulic Fighting Robots

• Programming: Coding with LEGO Spike Prime
